Newt, Texas is a fictional rural town in Muerto County, Texas in the United States on planet Earth, and the main setting of the 1974 horror film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and its 2013 sequel Texas Chainsaw 3D.
Location
The town is located near the real life town of Childress, in north western Texas. It has a population of 2,306.
